Compositions

A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That
This is a Samba that I dedicated to the great Bucky Pizzarelli. I recorded on my Solo CD "RAMO" 2004.
Chant Of The Cave
I composed this piece while visiting my home in Sicily. Behind my house there is an ancient cave and while growing up I played the game "A Mucciareddru" (Hide-and-Seek). Dedicated to my friend Carlos Barbosa-Lima.
Church Bells
This is a very special composition for me because was written and dedicated to a really incredible person. Church Bells is a little trip to a small Italian village. A tourist bus arrives at the main piazza (Village Square)and there it is welcomed by the gorgeous sound of the Church Bells. Everyone walks through the small streets exploring the beauty and simplicity when they encounter the local village marching band playing a Mazurka. After a short break in the ice cream shop, while walking toward the bus to leave, the Church Bells are sayng 'goodbye' -- fading out with the spectacular sunset. Dedicated to my 'cumpa'- or as they say here in the U.S. - 'goomba' and great luthier Rich DiCarlo.
December Flower
I wrote this tune in my car garage while I was living in Michigan on a December day. That was a very unusual sunny day for December. So, I picked-up my guitar and started playing. The tune is dedicated to my dear good friend Charlie Byrd and before he passed away I had the pleasure to play for him at his house in Maryland. You can year it on my new solo CD "RAMO".
Full Moon Above New York City
This tune is dedicated to my very good friend Guitarist & Composer Jorge Morel. It was originally recorded by myself on Violin with piano & bass. You can hear it on my Jazz Violin CD "Full Moon Above New York City".
Groovey Hat
I was walkin in Greektown (Detroit) with my hat on. A beautiful lady stopped and say..."that's a Groovey Hat"....so I wrote the song and than Heidi finished up with the lyrics. First was recorded live at 1994 Montreaux-Detroit Jazz festival with the Ramo 7 piece group and than Heidi and I did a Duo version. You can hear the DUO Version on our CD "FELICITA", the Group version is on the CD "Kiss My Head" available only on Tape. CDs are sold out. For more info send us an E-Mail. The song is dedicated to the great Joe Pass.
